How to Read a Chart

* For flat knitting, usually odd numbered rows are read right to left and even numbered rows are either omitted from the chart because they’re all purls, or are read left to right.
* For knitting in the round, read all rows right to left
* Don’t assume! Look at the pattern for any special instructions (remember Kate’s cabled slippers?).
